As soon as Alfred opened the door, Jamie remembered why she'd gone so long without talking to him.

"Hello, Jamie."

Behind him, Jamie saw neat, well decorated halls, which she knew he didn't arrange himself. The humble opulence of the house pissed her off. The man himself stood politely, which pissed her off too. She couldn't help but feel like he was showing off; lording over her everything that he'd gained off her back.

"Hello, Alfred."

"...Come on in."

As she followed him through the halls, he talked about having had the game open for three years, keeping his eyes on blah blah blah. While she walked she judged the house. The decor was different than the last time she'd been there, although that was many years ago. A new wife, she guessed.

As they turned a corner, Jamie's eyes set on a hall table, on top of which was a nine-vial. Like, decoratively. In the hallway. It made her want to gag.

"...hasn't moved out of the study. I boot it up every Sunday when I'm home. Here," Alfred finished, gesturing to the open door they'd reached. Inside were bookshelves, binders, folders... A desk and a lamp... And, on a side table in the corner, a game console, plugged into a small flatscreen computer monitor.
